This study provides an analysis of the impact of the Russian invasion on the functioning and resilience of Ukrainian agricultural higher education, focusing on Dnipro State Agrarian and Economic University (DSAEU). As one of the first in‐depth case studies on Ukrainian agricultural universities during full‐scale war, this research examines the effects of armed conflict on institutional adaptation, processes of educational programs, and community support systems. For this purpose, data were collected through “structured content analysis of official rector’s reports from 2020 to 2023”, applying the REST framework (Political‐, Economic‐, Social, and Technological‐) analytical framework to differential evaluation of internal and external challenges. The results shows markedly disruptions to physical infrastructure, loss of personnel, and transitions to distance and blended learning formats in the universities. Despite these challenges, DSAEU demonstrated notable institutional resilience, maintaining a high level of educational activity, supporting students and academic staff, and also expanding digital infrastructure. However, the findings show a decline in student learning outcomes, limited access to practical training, and the persistent psychological stress within the academic community. In conclusion, this study is underpinned by the theory of institutional resilience and adaptability, and the need to focus on leadership, learning, and infrastructure. The limitations of this research are its availability in only one case and based on reports, which might not reflect all the informal adaptation that occurs. This is due to the relevance of the findings of this research study to policymakers, research scholars, and academicians who are engaged in formulating crisis management strategies within institutions of higher education. Further research should be carried out using a comparative research methodology to determine its generalizability.
